RPM/Chef 10.18.2 Released
We've just pushed the latest Chef packages onto our cloud channel. For details of all the features and fixes, please visit http://www.opscode.com/blog/2013/01/18/chef-10-18-2-bugfix-release/. As usual, simply upgrade with yum:
$ yum update ruby*
This is a milestone release for us because we've done a full upgrade of our Ruby from 1.8.7 to 1.9.3. This is a major divergence from RHEL in that we've taken ownership of the entire Ruby stack on this channel. Ruby 1.8 is over three years old and we've decided that there are clear advantages to moving to 1.9. We do still have a 1.8 stack available for users who might wish to retain support from Red Hat for their Ruby, but may not make many anciliary Chef and Cloud product(s) availabel for this in the future.
We've also shipped even more Knife plugins, and we've released Berkshelf.
Our BastionLinux/Chef RPM's are available on BastionLinux, RHEL6, VMWare, and EC2/AMI. Don't hesitate to contact us to discuss your platform requirements and how to subscribe.
